The Homeless Poet - 'Life'

After a long day at BOSS HQ, some of our team were out for a drink in the Northern Quarter of Manchester where they were approached by a man, introducing himself as 'The Homeless Poet.' He offered to recite a poem to them on a subject of their choice. Debra, our MD, chose 'life.'

Without hesitating and seemingly unrehearsed, this is the poem he wrote:

I think I’m unlucky,
Or maybe just cursed,
Coz I pray for it to get better,
Yet life keeps getting worse.

And I know we’re all made even,
And equally we are blessed,
But the stronger your beliefs and faith,
The harder your life will test.

Thank you and God Bless

Surprised and amazed by his vivd and poignant view, the team offered him what they had and Debra was even inspired to write a reply:

God Bless you, Homeless Poet,
I hope we meet again,
You gave us all a treat that night
From your own pad and pen.
