This iconic locomotive, owned by the National Railway Museum, is nearing the end of a multi million pound restoration project which will see it return to main line service next year. Much of the work has been carried out at the Bury workshops of Ian Riley Engineering, which are based on the East Lancashire Railway where I am a Driver. Currently at York, the loco is due to return to the ELR for running in trials following completion....and if it does, I should get to drive it!"
