We haven’t done this in a while...
Richard Barker, not only is today your birthday and we all
get to devour Krispy Kremes, but it is also time for your long awaited Q&A session
with the Boss Questioning Mushroom Master. Over a year in the Boss making, TVC
booker Richard is certainly making his mark on the booking desk, with his
dashing good looks, understated charm and sexy deep voice. Now let’s see what’s
beyond that handsome, deep blue gaze…
My first job was at place called DINGLE BELLS. Yes that is the right name. I was a wee young little salesman trying to sell car phones the size of breeze blocks to wannabe Scouse-yuppies in their clapped out Jaguars. They never passed the credit check hence I never sold any phones.
Has anything embarrassing happened to you recently?
I think about the most embarrassing thing to happen to me was to be very drunk on a night out in Manchester. I get on the train to Huddersfield, rather than Preston (complete opposite direction) and drunkenly start shouting at myself on the train as it was the second time it had happened in one month!! The what is now ‘ex-girlfriend’ was not impressed, hence the ex!!!!! Thank you Lauren for putting me up yet again.
Do people praise you for your dashingly good looks?
No. I work in a model agency so everyone is far better looking than I am.
What are some of your nicknames?
Ronnie, Ronaldo, Ron, Ronster, Trickso, Tricky Dicky and last but not least as our lovely Michelle Davenport calls me DICK!!! (bit rude)
Whats on your iPod?
What isn't on there? Two Door Cinema Club (currently the most listened to), The Vaccines, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Chicane, Paul Oakenfold, Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden the list can go on. The power of Spotify.
Tell us what you carry in your man bag?
I don’t have a man bag!! (he does) But in my rucksack there are head phones (big ones), laptop and food (mainly crisps- very unhealthy). I’ll change that to protein shakes and running shoes before long.
Who do you think is hot stuff?
Carman Cass, Alesandro Ambrosio, Sienna Miller, Charlize Theron and Sandra Bullock (not forgetting Cath Ashworth, Lucy Moores, Sarah Harrison, Helen Delaney, Kylie Jones, Debra Burns, Michelle Davenport, Tracy Edge, Jennie Jones and Lauren Mellor ; )
Which actor would you like to play you in the movie of your life?
Clive Owen, he is very swarve and sophisticated, a bit of an action man, and he would make me look good.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Chill, play Xbox (38 years old and still play xbox) and keep my 10 year old son occupied.
What did you want to be when you were a little boy?
I wanted to be a Marine Commando or in the SAS. I still might be, you will never know, I have to keep my identity secret.
If we could teleport you anywhere, right now this second, where would you go?
The Maldives – Turtle Island. Right now please!! Is it monsoon season? Are the drinks free!!?
What would be your death row meal and drink of choice, and which celebrity would you invite along to share your last night?
KFC – Chicken bucket, lots of fries with a side order of KFC gravy, finish off with a Malteser Krushem. I would have Clive Owen there to make sure that the movie about my life ends right and Sandra Bullock for one last kiss. As long as Clive was ok with that.
Facebook friend or foe?
Hmmm mainly friendly depends which nutters you add as friends.
Best thing about working at Boss?
The best people you could ever work with! Supportive, friendly, nuts and most of all one big happy crazy family. Long live BOSS. (good answer)
